Virtual Foundation Celebration

Please plan to join our Zoom Foundation Celebration on Saturday evening, May 22. This event will replace the 6040 Foundation Dinner that we had to cancel, due to Covid last November. This will be a fun evening where we will celebrate the Foundation results of the ’19 -‘20 year and the Kimbrough Challenge made possible by a successful legacy dinner in 2017 and the generous donation by Ed and Margaret Kimbrough from the Huntsville Club.

Our guest speaker will be Brenda Cressey. Brenda made Rotary history when she became the first woman to serve as The Rotary Foundation Trustee’s Chair. For many years, she has been involved in significant Foundation and Polio fundraising efforts for The Foundation.

This event is a significant part of our annual fundraising efforts for the Foundation. The funds available for District and Global Grants in 3 years are determined by our Annual Fund contributions this Rotary year. Throughout the evening we will have the opportunity to participate in raffles and auctions that will take place online this year. Clubs and Individuals can also contribute by being a sponsor of the event.

Several Clubs are planning their own watch parties. They are planning to gather as a Club, in small groups or as individuals to enjoy and participate in the Celebration via Zoom. I am looking forward to seeing everyone around the District that evening as we Celebrate all the good The  Foundation does locally and around the world.

Meet Another Rotary Leadership Institute Grad
Meet Ryan Elam from the Lee's Summit Rotary Club and a recent Rotary Leadership Institute grad.  "The RLI program was a fantastic way to explore Rotary on a deeper level.  The program provides an opportunity to not only strengthen your individual knowledge of Rotary, but inspires you to do more as a Rotarian.  The discussions with the facilitators and participants builds upon each other and truly opens opportunities for partnerships and new ways to make an impact," said Elam.
