RLI

Shirley Key is a Rotarian from District 6800 and from Memphis Tennessee.  She joined our last RLI Part 3 class online in February.  See what she had to say about the Rotary Leadership Institute program!

I enjoyed the RLI III(3) Training!  It was interactive and very informative.  The presenters were either currently very active in their clubs or had had great successes in the areas which they were sharing the information.  "Sharing" is the key.  It did not feel like a "presentation" for all of the sessions were like a "sharing" session where ideas of successes and failures were discussed. Thus the sessions were relevant for the presenters could give examples and suggestions of the leadership skills needed to undertake projects and even leadership positions in rotary clubs.

Sincerely,
Shirley Gholston-Key, Ed.D.

Malawi Cyclone Ana Relief Effort
Rotary District 6040 has had individuals and clubs donate to help in the relief efforts from Cyclone Anna.  Donations have helped to provide families with various items including plastic sheets, soya pieces, maize flour, beans, cooking oil, soap, and blankets.  Communication from D9210 PDG Hutch Mthinda said, “The main access road was cut off by the cyclone and they had to take a long, muddy and difficult route to reach the camp. Despite problems experienced at the camp  people still pull a smile and even dance. Amazing. Your donation is bringing a smile to many people. Rotary is serving lives here."

Waldo-Brookside Rotary Club Donates $13,035 to Ukrainian Relief Efforts

The 48 members of the Waldo-Brookside Rotary Club (WBRC) have lived up to the Rotary motto of “People of Action” and have donated $13,135 to the Ukraine Relief Efforts. This is their largest donation ever.

On March 16th WBRC President-Elect Jenna Nelson brought forth to the board a desire to assist the Rotary Club Budapest – Central in Budapest, Hungary. They are providing aid and support to Ukrainian refugees. Current WBRC President Paige Fowler agreed, and after some discussion it was determined that the board would donate $5,000 split between the Rotary Club Budapest – Central and the Rotary Foundation’s Disaster Relief Fund.
