Around The District
A Word From The Governor
There is a lot going on out there that isn’t always the most positive, but it is refreshing to see the consistent can-do spirit of the Rotarians in each and every club. Rotary remains focused on fighting disease (including polio), promoting peace, providing clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, saving mothers and children, supporting education, protecting the environment, and growing local economies. Rotarians work to accomplish all of this through the lens of our core values, which are service, fellowship, diversity, leadership, and integrity.
It was an honor to visit 4 clubs across the district during the month of February.

Show Me Rotary PETS Training
Show Me Rotary Presidents-elect/nominee Training Seminar (PETS) is coming up on March 28-29 at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia.

Each club is asked to have their President-elect (person serving as President in 2025-2026) and President-nominee (person serving as President in 2026-2027) attend.

This is a statewide learning opportunity to learn best practices about how to lead your club, learn the latest updates from across Rotary, and a great chance to network with other Rotary club leaders and district leadership from across Missouri. The Rotary International President-elect Mario Cesar Martins de Camargo and Rotary Zones 30/31 Director-elect Brian Hall will both be at this year's event and available for everyone to meet.

Missouri RYLA Academy

The Missouri RYLA Academy (MO RYLA) is a four-day/three-night service leadership program that introduces Rotary’s “Service Above Self” philosophy. The curriculum, developed and administered by professional educators, includes a personality self-assessment, team-building
activities, and a two-day service project simulation. Rotary International recognizes our program as one of the model RYLA programs in the world. We were the only break-out session at the 2019 RI Convention in Hamburg, Germany.
