Happy New Year District 6040 Rotarians!

I made several visits to Clubs in December and saw all the excitement for the Holidays and activities our great Clubs are doing. Saw several Clubs ringing bells for the Salvation Army and the fun they were having doing that for that great organization. I have several Visits scheduled for January and look forward to seeing lots of District 6040 Rotarians at their meetings and I know it will not snow!

I am excited to announce that we will be having our District Conference on April 28 and 29th. On Friday April 28, we will have a Barbecue and campfire at the Rotary Youth Camp in Lee’s Summit. On Saturday we will have some morning activities and then in the afternoon we will have our Conference at the newly renovated Truman Library in Independence. We have a great speaker lined up and we will be having Shoes Roll Call at the Library. More details about these events and hotel options will be coming out soon. Please save those dates for our District Conference!

We had one round of District Grants back in July and do have some additional funds remaining. If you can get a project done this spring, the District still can match up to $2,500.00 towards a project. Contact Beth Franklin, our District Grants Chair who is with the Independence Club at 816-665-5054 or bethfranklin@kw.com.
