Group Study Exchange 
The Rotary District 6040 Group Study Exchange is leaving for District 9210 in Africa this October.  The team will visit Malawi and Zambia.  
Weston Rotary members gave out free water and ice cream sandwiches during the Fourth of July events on main street of Weston, MO.  The US Navy band was putting on a concert during this time and community members enjoyed live music and a refreshing treat.  
Online Learning Center
Did you know that Rotary had an Online Training Center for any Rotarian to access?  Classes are cover all areas.  Online training can bridge physical distances, accommodate busy schedules, and create more inclusive learning environments.

Independence Uncorked
The Rotary Club of Eastern Independence invites you to the 8th Annual Independence Uncorked Wine Festival presented by Edward Jones will be held on September, 11th, 2021 from 1:00pm-6:00pm on the grounds of the Historic Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence, MO. Independence Uncorked will be one of the largest Missouri wine festivals in the state featuring 25 Missouri wineries sampling several of their wines, a guest spirits distiller, and over 2500 attendees. The day will also feature art, music, beer, food booths and wine classes. The cost will be $30 in advance and $40 at the door and will include a wine glass and 4 bottle wine bag (for 1st 2000 people).

6040 Covid Relief Support
 
Eighteen months ago, none of us had heard of Covid -19.  When Covid suddenly appeared in February / March 2020, it was an unknown. Within a few weeks, we learned that it was spreading around the world rapidly. Because of Rotary’s immense global reach, it was a natural reaction that Rotary International would take action to help support communities around the globe. I know Covid impacted each of us personally and our Club’s in many ways. In this article, I want to share how our District supported several Covid related projects through the past 16 months with different financial contributions and efforts.

In the spring of 2020, The Rotary Foundation funded a Covid Disaster Relief grant fund with $1 million.

Richmond District Grant
The Richmond Rotary Club completed their 2020-2021 District Grant Project.  Trees were planted and an irrigation plan implemented with help from the Richmond Rotary Club in a joint effort with the City of Richmond.

Congratulations KCI Rotary Club
2019-2020 District Governor Marc Horner came to KCI Rotary’s 5th Wednesday Social event at Weatherby Lake Pavilion on June 30th to present Lynn McClure all of our awards from the 2019-2020 year, which included the Ray Klingensmith Traveling Trophy.
