Our district's conference this Spring will be held in Kirksville (at A.T Still University) on May 30 and 31. Online registration and detailed program and hotel information can be found at https://rotary6040. org/events/district- conference-rotary-district- 6040/. The early fee of $100 lasts through 4/15, after which the fee will be $125. All Rotarians and their partners from across the district are invited!
The District Conference will feature keynote speaker Past District Governor Judge Duane Benton ("What Would Ray Say?") on Friday night. "Candle in the Dark" as performed by Rotarians will be the program for Saturday night. Of course, we'll have the annual Shoes for Orphan Souls roll call.
Breakout sessions on various topics will be offered including: successful small clubs, effective community service projects, growing your club's membership and engagement, Rotary youth programs, leadership development, improving your club's public image, and successful Rotary club fundraising. There will be a literacy service project for everyone to take back to their clubs that will benefit their local communities.
We'll have a chance for everyone to experience Kirksville, whether through golf, Truman State tours, boating on the lake, or A.T. Still University tours.
In addition to the conference itself, there will be a Past District Governors dinner on 5/29 at Sebree's in Greentop, and a special concert by Grammy-award winner Rhonda Vincent and the Rage at Truman State University on 6/1.
I hope to see everyone in Kirksville in May for what promises to be a conference to remember!
