Rotary Global Grant Scholarships are possible because of gifts made from D6040 Rotarians to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund/SHARE. One-half of each year's giving is returned to the district to fund district and global grants and scholarships. This year we are please to award a $50,000 Rotary District 6040 Global Grant Scholarship to Nicholas Presley of Liberal, Missouri.
Rotary District 6040 Global Grant Scholarships awards fund graduate level coursework or research for one to two years at an educational institution in another country. Nicholas graduated from Kirksville High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish from Truman State University. He will be studying at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London, England. His studies will be part of their MSc Control of Infectious Diseases. As part of his coursework, he will be required to take a 3-month field based practicum to apply his coursework in a real-world context.
