Impact of Cyclone Ana on our friends in Malawi

Our Rotary District had a Group Study Exchange with D9210 in Southern Africa last Autumn.  One of the countries in that district is Malawi. One of the members of their GSE team who visited us is Eveline Sibindi van Dam; currently the President of the Lilongwe-Lingadzi Rotary Club. 

 

Our outbound team visited the area mentioned in the attached articles.  There are two Rotary Clubs in the affected area of Malawi; Blantyre RC and Blantyre-Limbe RC.  The people in the affected villages are some of the poorest people in the world and this disaster has destroyed what little that they had.  The Rotary Clubs of Malawi are requesting our help. I summarized the following from the attached letter.

 

The Rotary Clubs there do a fantastic job of doing all that they can to improve the lives of their fellow citizens. Now they are just trying to help save them. If your club, or the Rotarians in your club, are in a position to make a donation of any size to this effort I know it would be greatly appreciated by the people of Malawi. 

 

The Limbe Club is managing the funds for District 9210. Here are the transfer details. the swift code in the attached letter is  incorrect. The one below  is correct.
