Introducing the Klinginsmith Cup

Beginning July 1, 2010, Kirksville Rotarian and PDG Ray Klinginsmith will take over as President of Rotary International. This is a wonderful honor for Ray, his wife Judi and everyone in District 6040. To permanently honor Ray, we are introducing The Klinginsmith Cup. This traveling award will be presented annually to the club with the highest average giving to the Rotary Annual Programs Fund plus receiving the Presidential Citation.
Why were these selection criteria chosen? Ray's introduction to Rotary was as an Ambassadorial Scholar to South Africa and what funds our Ambassadorial Scholars? The Rotary Annual Programs Fund. When you look at the history of Ray and Judi Klinginsmith, one word comes to mind; service. Service to their community and to Rotary. When you look at the requirements to recieve the presidential citation, many of the elements are service to your community. What better way to honor Ray and Judie than to honor clubs for service to Rotary's Annual Programs Fund and to your community.
