A Liberty, Missouri native, Karla Jordan, has completed the inaugural Middle East and North Africa (MENA) cohort of the Rotary Peace Fellowship, celebrating graduation during a capstone seminar held in early February at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul.
The fellow was part of Cohort One at the university’s MENA peace center, joining other cohorts for the seminar and graduation events. The Rotary Peace Fellowship, a program of Rotary International, prepares leaders to address conflict, strengthen communities, and advance sustainable peace worldwide.
Supported throughout the journey by Rotary District 6040, the Rotary Club of Liberty and Rotarians abroad, the newly graduated fellow is currently based in Duhok and plans to return to the Kansas City metro area in June. She hopes to visit area clubs to share insights on global peacebuilding efforts and the challenges facing the Middle East.
