Rotary District 6040 is proud to announce the selection of Randy Steinman to the position of District Governor Nominee Designate. He will take the helm as District Governor in July 2023, following current DG Marc Horner, DG Elect Don Gladhart, DG Nominee David McCaughey, and DG Nominee Designate Kent Shelman. He is a member and immediate past president of the Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club.  “I am deeply honored to have been selected for this service role,” says Steinman.  “I look forward to working with our clubs to achieve the goals of Rotary.”
Randy has been a passionate Rotarian since 2001, when he participated in a Group Study Exchange to the Philippines and has since served in a number of club and District rolls. He has served as the District 6040 Microcredit Chair, District Global Grants Chair, and is currently the District Ambassador for Economic Development. He was instrumental in writing a multi-year Rotary Global Grant to fund a microcredit loan program in the Dominican Republic, and has helped numerous women apply for and receive small business loans. He is a Paul Harris Fellow (PH+7) and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI).

Randy is a political and governmental affairs consultant. He is president of R.L. Steinman & Associates, a founding partner in Talon Strategies Group and a strategic analyst for States Strategies, both based in Washington, D.C. He also serves on the board of the National Rural Jobs Coalition. His specialty is coalition building and constituent empowerment.

He and his wife Jan live in Independence where they have been working to restore a 130-year-old house. His hobbies include furniture making and woodcarving.

Future District Governors are chosen following a rigorous interview process by a committee comprised of the past five District Governors. (Those in the future-governor line-up participate in the interview process, but only Past District Governors vote.)

Congratulations to Randy Steinman!
