Rotary District 6040 Foundation HOOP-la Success and Thank You:
 
Randy Steinman, District Governor, and Frances Reddis, HOOP-la Committee Chair, want to thank the Rotarians of District 6040 who helped plan and participated in the annual District Foundation fundraiser, HOOP-la, at the College Basketball Experience on November 4, 2023.  The event was a success raising almost $65,000, which will be available for future District and Global grant projects. 
 
The following clubs contributed $39,000 by attending and sponsoring tables at the event:  Kansas City Plaza (four tables x $2,500 = $10,000), Kansas City (two tables x $2,500 = $5,000), Lee’s Summit ($2,500), Liberty ($2,500), Lee’s Summit Sunrise/Sunset ($2,500), Lexington and Richmond ($2,500), St. Joseph East ($2,500), Lawson ($2,500), Waldo/Brookside ($2,500), and Trenton ($2,500).  The Independence and Kirksville/Kirksville Thousand Hills Clubs each sponsored four reserved seats for $1,500 each.  Kansas City South and Parkville each sponsored two reserved seats for $500 each.  There were 73 other individual Rotarians and guests who purchased tickets for the event, totaling $9,125.
 
The committee secured four community sponsors, which was a new concept for the District Foundation's annual fundraiser.  Arco National Contractors, Blue Scope, and Zipco each sponsored a table for $2,500 each.  Toast and Jam reserved four seats for $1,500.

A special thanks to Bill Moran, KC Plaza club, who offered his Colorado Condo for the raffle.  $3,000 in Visa gift cards, provided by ?, were added to that prize. 173 tickets at $100 each were sold making $17,300.  Bill also offered a second week of his condo during the Live Auction, which raised another $2,050. 
 
These other Live Auction items raised $1505:  Hall of Fame Baseball bat 1999 with George Brett and other signatures (anonymous donation from KC Club 13) $255; Fishing trip to Lake Taneycomo & Table Rock Lake (David Fritz, Lee’s Summit Sunrise/Sunset ? Raytown??) $400; and In Home Whisky Tasting curated by Roger Samuel (KC Plaza) $850.
 
We thank all the Rotarians and their guests who attended the event and purchased items or made cash donations to the Fund the Need.  Activity tickets in the amount of $820 were also purchased at the event and used for the various activities.
