Rotary District 6040 Club and District Leaders:

We are now 2 months away from this year’s Show Me Rotary Presidents-elect (and Presidents-nominee) Training Seminar (PETS), which is 3/22 and 3/23 at the University Plaza Hotel in Springfield, MO (new location this year). The Show Me Rotary Council and our district’s leaders have prepared a great training weekend for everyone to learn and help their clubs grow in impact, reach, engagement, and their ability to adapt.

Online registration and hotel bookings are now open for all Presidents-elect, Presidents-nominee, district officers, and Show Me Rotary Council members at https://showmerotary.org/registration/. Please visit the page and get signed up as soon as you can. Thank you to those of you who have already signed up and/or reached out.

We have several clubs that aren’t showing their Presidents-nominee in ClubRunner yet, and we are asking Club Presidents or Presidents-elect to help by getting these names entered as well as sharing the info about PETS with the Presidents-nominee. Kandi Kos, the district’s Executive Secretary, is also willing to help enter your club’s 2024-2025 officers into ClubRunner if you get her a list (rotary6040office@gmail.com).

In the spirit of service and friendly competition, Districts 6040, 6060, and 6080 are also holding a PETS literacy contest to see which districts and clubs can contribute the most volunteer hours, book donations, and/or financial contributions to literacy. This contest will run from 2/1 through 3/15 and results will be collected and shared at PETS. The winning club from District 6040 will earn a cash payout of up $100 to be used towards a literacy-related project. The overall top club between the 3 districts will get an additional $150 that they can use for a literacy project.

Many thanks, and I look forward to seeing everyone in Springfield.
